Kim Kardashian has been accused of faking being “poor” in a string of candid Instagram pictures.

The reality TV star – who took a three month hiatus from social media after she was robbed at gunpoint in Paris in October – has been treating fans to an insight into her life with husband Kanye West and their children North, three, and Saint, one.

Kardashian posted a picture of herself relaxing on a green sofa in a white room as her children stood at a window.

Another picture shows West holding Saint in a room with minimal furnishings.

But fans have taken aim at the images with one writing: “What's with the whole 'we now live in poverty' vibes?”

Another asked if the celebrity couple had shunned interiors shops in favour of buying second hand furniture, writing: “Why is your decor so depressing? Looks like yard sale stuff--early Sanford and Son.”

Others branded the images fake with one commenting: “What’s with these new style shots? Like they’re in some run down beach house so fake man!”

Another wrote: “These pictures are so contrived, why is it so difficult to be honest, to be real?!”

Others defended the star with one posting: “It's horrible how she gets slated for living a millionaire lifestyle and now she's living low key she's still getting slated for it.”

The pictures come a week after the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star marked her social media return with a home video.

The video, which is set to Jeremih's Paradise, shows Kardashian helping Saint to walk, dancing with West and cooking dinner.

Seventeen people were arrested this week over Kardashian's Paris robbery. Her limousine driver Michael Madar has since been released.

The attackers stole Kardashian's £4m engagement ring and other items worth some £5m in what some believe to have been an inside job.
