Katie Price’s mansion caught fire leaving her “terrified” the house was going to burn down.

The former glamour model was said to be in shock after discovering the blaze, which is believed to have spread from five-year-old son Jett’s bedroom across the first floor.

Price’s step-father Paul is said to have put the fire out before emergency services had to be called.

The mother-of-five and her family are believed to be unharmed.

The TV personality is reportedly concerned at the cost of repairing the damage as the bedroom and corridor were left blackened with smoke.

A source told the Sun: “Katie and the family were terrified the house was going to burn down.

“She's trying to sell the house at the moment, so it's really bad news for Katie. It's going to cost her a fortune to repair.

“Nobody knows how it started but if Paul hadn't been visiting at the time with Katie's mum Amy, the whole house could have burnt to the ground.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives of Price for comment.

The news comes in the wake of news that Price narrowly avoided being declared bankrupt.

She was granted 12 weeks to avoid financial ruin after submitting an application to pay off her creditors.

She was once estimated to be worth £45 million and has reportedly been fighting against bankruptcy for the last few months following the breakdown of her third marriage and the collapse of her clothing company, KP Boutique.
