Kate Moss may be a catwalk veteran, but she won't be doing a turn on the Walk of Fame that is being unveiled in her home town.
Local councilors in Croydon are planning to mark a new pathway being built through the town centre with three life-size portraits of its most famous faces as voted for by local residents.
But when a shortlist of ten people from the town in Greater London was drawn up by civic leaders the supermodel didn't make the cut.
A source told the Daily Star: "She is by far the most famous face to ever come out of Croydon. She should be an automatic choice."
Those who have made it onto the list include comedian Ronnie Corbett, 81, who has lived in Croydon for many years, and actor Dave Prowse, 76, who played Darth Vader in three Star Wars films.
Others being considered include late actress Peggy Ashcroft, who won an Oscar for appearing in A Passage To India in 1984 and athlete Tasha Danvers, who won a bronze medal for hurdling at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
A spokesperson for the council said: "We want you to vote for the three local people from the list who make you most proud of where you live.
"The chosen characters will be represented by life-size portraits around a simple bench located on a new walking and cycling route in Croydon."
While Kate has not been included so far, the council said it would take her into account if she received lots of votes.
