Johnny Depp has denied claims that he stormed off of the set of the latest Pirates of the Caribbean film to “salvage his marriage” to Amber Heard.

It was reported that the 51-year-old actor stormed off the Gold Coast set of Pirates of Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Wednesday to follow Heard, his wife of three months, back to the US.

Depp's publicist Michael Singer has since denied the claims.

In a statement released on behalf of the actor he said: "I can't go into detail on our filming schedules or the movements of individuals but I can tell you that nothing in that report has any relation to reality."

He continued: "Mr Depp has been filming on schedule. It's business as usual with all participants working."

The news comes after Depp's two dogs, Pistol and Boo, were threatened with the death sentence after they entered Australia without going through quarantine.

Agriculture minister Barnaby Joyce said at the time: “It’s time that Pistol and Boo buggered off back to the United States. Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we’re going to have to euthanise them."

Heard, 29 - who married Depp on his private island in the Bahamas in February - reportedly flew the dogs back to the US on a private jet, accompanied by her father David.
