Gemma Chan and Dominic Cooper have sparked dating rumours after they were pictured cuddling on a night out in Formentera.

Chan was snapped with her arms around the Mamma Mia actor who put on an affectionate display as they hit the town of Sant Francesc, according to The Sun.

A source said “they seemed to be having a great time” before heading back to their resort.

“Dominic is very recognisable – especially with Mamma Mia 2 out at the minute – so it didn’t take long for people to notice him,” they said.

“He and Gemma looked as though they were having a great time – laughing loudly and cuddling up while taking pictures.”

The pictures come weeks after Chan opened up about being single in the wake of her split from comedian Jack Whitehall.

The pair dated for six years after meeting on Channel 4 comedy, Fresh Meat, in 2011.

Speaking to Vogue she said: “I don’t know how to be single. Every single one of my friends from uni are either married or have kids. It feels good; like a new chapter, a fresh start of sorts.”

Cooper – who starred alongside Chan in Stratton last year – split from his partner Ruth Negga in April after eight years together.

He previously dated his Mamma Mia co-star Amanda Seyfried. Cooper recently opened up on reuniting with the Mean Girls actress to play her onscreen husband in the ABBA musical sequel and said his co-star Cher told Seyfried she had “dodged a bullet” by splitting from him.

“After Amanda made it clear that we used to, once upon a time, be together, Cher said [to Amanda], ‘You dodged a bullet there,’” he told Vanity Fair. “She said it as a joke, but she thinks she knows me very well, the type of person I am.”

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Chan and Cooper for comment.
