X Factor reject Honey G has revealed she is gay – and is on the lookout for a girlfriend.

The rap artist, 36, went public with her sexuality after stripping off for her first topless photoshoot.

Honey G, real name Anna Gilford, said she was previously worried about homophobia and didn’t feel ready to come out during her time on The X Factor.

“I do worry about homophobia, but I feel now is the right time to let people know that I’m gay,” she told The Sun.

“Being new to the music industry on the X Factor I think I was just a bit shy and guarded.

“I was worried about what people would think, and as well I was worried about people being homophobic. I wasn’t really ready at that point to announce my sexuality to the world.”

The ‘North Weezy’ resident – who described herself as an “outrageous flirt” – said she is keen to find someone to marry and have a family with as she has wanted to be a mother since her late teens.

She said: “I’m definitely looking for that special someone and I do really want to have kids as well. I’ve wanted to have them since I was 19. I’d like to get married and settle down.”

The Honey G Show singer said she is attracted to “feminine women” and described former X Factor winner Fleur East as “very good looking”.

“In terms of pretty women that I like I would probably say Queen Latifah. Fleur East is very good looking. Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy, but I know Melissa is married.”

Honey G said she was apprehensive about stripping off for the shoot as she wasn't sure if she is a “sex symbol” because she doesn't have a size eight body, but said she felt it was an opportunity to "show people a different side to me”.
