Anna Faris has reportedly struck up a relationship with cinematographer Michael Barrett, weeks after she announced her split from husband Chris Pratt.

The pair, who have yet to comment on the rumours, have been pictured enjoying several outings together in public, including a trip to a carnival in Malibu with Faris’ five-year-old son.

They are also said to have dined out at Italian restaurant Modo Mio in Los Angeles, with a source telling E! that it “seemed romantic”.

“It was definitely a dinner date,” the source said. “It seemed romantic in the way they were looking at one another and how they were laughing at the table.

“No one in the restaurant realized it was her, but she definitely looked to be on a date.”

US gossip site TMZ first reported that the pair met while working on the set of Farris’ upcoming film, Overboard.

It comes weeks after Faris shocked fans by confirming her split from husband of eight years, Pratt.

In a statement she said they will always be friends as they “truly adore each other”.

She said: “We’ll always have each other and be incredible friends. It’s understandable that people seem so invested in our relationship.

“All I can say about that is, it’s all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other, I think it still comes through.”

She reflected on the demise of her relationship with the Guardians of the Galaxy actor during an episode of her podcast, saying that “life is too short” to stay with someone who “doesn’t have your back.”

The Hollywood couple first met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007 and got engaged a year later.

They married in Bali on July 9, 2009 and welcomed son Jack, who was born prematurely, in 2012.
