Harry Styles paid an emotional tribute to the 22 victims of the Manchester terror attack as he played on the Arena stage for the first time since the tragic events of May 2017.

Styles took a moment to address the crowd and remembered those who lost their lives as he prepared to perform ballad Just a Little Bit Of Your Heart, which he wrote for Ariana Grande.

A bomb detonated in the foyer just as a Grande concert finished on May 22 2017 claimed the lives of 22 people, including children, and injured many more.

Styles said: “The next song we’re going to play I wrote it a couple of years ago and it's always meant a lot to me but tonight I think it means so much more than it ever has before being in this room.

“I thank you so much for being with me here tonight. I grew up coming to my first concerts in this room, I love this room. And I thank you for spending some time with us," he said.

Fans at the concert had also planned their own tribute as they held banners and signs with the number 22, the Manchester bee and Grande’s signature bunny ears aloft during the song.

One of the survivors of the Manchester bombing, Hollie Booth, moved Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon to tears when she auditioned for the show with a medley of Grande hits.

The 13-year-old only survived the attack after being shielded by her aunt Kelly Brewster, who was killed by the attack.

Booth – who broke both her legs in the blast - performed in a wheelchair alongside friends, all wearing t-shirts emblazoned with the bee.

Simon Cowell later praised the teen for her performance, describing the routine as a “statement” and saying he would “never forget it”.
