Gwyneth Paltrow has said that she is ‘proud’ of how she is raising her children with ex-husband Chris Martin, but sometimes finds it ‘difficult’.

The A-list actress, who split from the Coldplay star back in 2014, has spoken candidly about their divorce, saying that she still ‘adores’ her ex.

Speaking during a Cannes Lions discussion with Stephen Sakur, Paltrow said: “My children know that we're in a loving family.

“And I adore their father even though we're not in a romantic relationship.”

The couple are raising children Apple, 12, and Moses, 10, together following their divorce last year.

She added: “I'm very proud of us for the way that - as anyone who has been divorced knows - we have had to put aside an awful lot to stay a family for the sake of the children.

“Sometimes it's quite tough on a personal level.”

Discussing the way in which they announced their separation as a ‘conscious uncoupling’ on her website Goop, the actress said:

“I felt that it was a way of controlling scrutiny. It was such a difficult time in our lives and I think we thought that if we put it on our own platform, it was a way of controlling it.”

While Paltrow is currently in a relationship with TV producer Brad Falchuk, Martin is thought to be dating Peaky Blinders actress Annabelle Wallis.
