The fine ladies of the rich and famous put on their smartest shoes and stepped out for the 22nd annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards in New York City last night.

Selena Gomez had a bit of a cry as she was presented the Independent Spirit Award by Ethan Hawke.

The 20-year-old entertainer, who recently split up from Justin Bieber, is the youngest-ever US ambassador for UNICEF.

Former “Sex and the City” star Cynthia Nixon also performed, while Chelsea Clinton paid tribute to the women who ran for political office in 2012.

16 year-old Olympic gold-medalist Gabby Douglas was also recognized, along with other female U.S. Olympic athletes, for their “unstoppable” record number of gold medal wins at this year’s games.

Funds raised at this year’s event will go to support Project SAAVE, which helps to bring medical care to acid attack survivors.
