Girls Aloud unveiled their comeback track today as they premiered the dance tune online.

The group had been expected to launch the single, called Something New, later this week after a countdown appeared on their website last week.

But the five-piece - who have had their own projects for the past three years - posted the full track just hours after a 20-second teaser video was first aired.

Girls Aloud had been widely expected to stage some form of reunion to mark ten years since they were put together by the ITV show Popstars: The Rivals and claiming their first number one with Sound Of The Underground.

The members have continually been asked about plans to unite once more but have kept quiet about any firm proposals.

They are due to make an announcement on Friday morning when the countdown clock on the website reaches zero.

In the teaser video clip the group - Cheryl Cole, Sarah Harding, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts - are seen with their backs to the camera and wearing orange tulip mini-dresses.

Girls Aloud are expected to make an appearance on the latest series of Strictly Come Dancing, for which Walsh is among the celebrity contestants.

The track is being released on November 18.
