Gemma Collins left fans in hysterics when she shared a video of herself attempting the popular Bottle Cap Challenge.

The 38-year-old TOWIE star posted the hilarious clip on Instagram which saw her trying to take off the top of the water bottle with a high kick - almost falling into the ocean in the process.

The reality TV star – fondly known as The GC - was living the life of luxury as she enjoyed a boat trip in a bright orange swimsuit.

Talking to her fans, she said: “It's the GC and I'm attempting the Bottle Cap Challenge, or whatever it's called.”

'It's the GC and I'm attempting the Bottle Cap Challenge, or whatever it's called,' she announced in the clip

Then she tried to kick the cap off the bottle, but took a tumble almost falling off the boat into the waters.

Letting out a scream, she quickly grabbed the railings to compose herself after knocking the entire bottle over by accident.

Some of Collins’s most famous friends reacted to clip, with former TOWIE co-star Joey Essex joking: “Yes GC that was a naughty little kick”.

Her Celebs Go Dating co-star Tallia Storm added: “Icon always and forever”.

Collin’s attempt comes after plenty of other celebrities athletes, axed Love Island stars and social media influencers filmed themselves having a go at the viral challenge.

With the likes of Jason Statham, Justin Bieber, Ryan Reynolds, Conor McGregor and most recently Kendall Jenner jumping on the bandwagon, it's fun to see Collin’s spin on the trend.

The challenge consists of a roundhouse style kicking the cap off a screw top bottle without knocking the bottle over, then posting slow-motion video evidence of it to social media under the hashtag #bottlecapchallenge.

The challenge exploded into popularity after MMA athletes and A-listers including John Mayer began giving it a go.

The Bottle Cap Challenge first began when an Instagram user named @farakicks posted a video to social media demonstrating himself jump kicking and roundhouse kicking the cap off the bottle.
