Kit Harington has told Game of Thrones fans to prepare for “big moments” in the final season of the show.

The actor, who plays Jon Snow, appeared on US talk show Late Night with Seth Myers in a bid to promote season eight, which is set to kick off this weekend.

Most of the details have been kept firmly under wraps, but Harington confirmed there are “palpable moments”, while joking that the final season is going to be “terrible”.

When quizzed by Myers on the final table read, Harington said: “Of course [there's palpable moments]. It’s going to be a terrible last season [if not]. I’ve just been deadpan like ‘nothing happened’.

“I can say that there are definite big moments.”

Harington also told how he struggled to stop himself from reading all the scripts for the remaining episodes.

“There was a big temptation to skip ahead, cause no one wants to know what happened more than we did,” he said.

“I stopped myself, the [scripts] came three days before the read through. I became like a litmus test for the season. They put a camera on me and saw my reactions.”

Harington’s comments come after his show co-star Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, highlighted how strict show bosses are about leaks.

Turner said she was made to ask fiancé Joe Jonas to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before unveiling the ending of the show, despite Jonas being on the set a lot during filming.

She told Entertainment Tonight: “Joe was on set most of the time so he kind of figured it out and he was like, ‘Can you fill me [in]?’

“And, he signed an NDN, NDA and everything so it’s all good.’”

Turner previously shed light on why Harington was paid significantly more than her for the remaining season, explaining that his profits came off the back of a string of night shoots and his bigger role on the show.

Game Of Thrones will return for a final series on April 15, simulcasting with the US at 2am. Episodes will be repeated at 9pm on Sky Atlantic.
