Jennifer Lawrence proved her loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles as she tried to kick-start a Super Bowl chant after taking over a tannoy on board a flight.

The US actress, 27, was flying from New Orleans to Los Angeles when she grabbed the phone as the air hostess went into the toilet.

“Everybody, this is not the pilot speaking. This is Jennifer Lawrence,” she said. “It’s February 4th, it’s Super Bowl Sunday, and we all know what that means.

“Can I please just get a ‘fly eagles fly’? Fly, eagles fly! Fly eagles fly!”

Lawrence managed to entice a handful of passengers into chanting before being told to stop by a flight attendant as she attempted to quote a scene from Bridesmaids.

Speaking to People, one passenger said: “There were a few cheers. She went back to her seat and that was it. Everyone seemed fine as it was like, pretty quick.”

Lawrence wasn’t the only famous face to get over excited by Sunday night’s game.

The comedian and Philadelphia native was denied access by a burly security guard as former footballer Darrell Green attempted to carry the Lombardi Trophy up to the stage.

He later crashed a post-match interview where he dropped the 'f-bomb' before being kicked out the commentary box.

He said: “Philadelphia’s a great city. I thought, I hope this is an example of what we can do. We gave a f*** … ooh.”

He also joked that he had been “drinking,” before insisting: “I’m not... I’m not drunk! Get off of me! I’m having a good time!”
