Elle Fanning dispelled the claim made by her latest film that “beauty is viscious” as she dazzled on the red carpet for the premiere of The Neon Demon.

Fanning, 18, looked every inch the leading lady as she posed up a storm in a metallic embellished gown at London’s Picturehouse Central.

The actress smiled for photographers as she twirled in her gown ahead of the film screening.

She was joined by director Nicolas Winding Refn who looked ready to take on the critics as he showed off his boxing moves while squaring up to the cameras.

The film – which features scenes of murder and cannibalism – was reportedly met with boos and people shouting abuse at the screen during its debut at the Cannes Film Festival.

Fanning recently addressed the reports and said she would rather extreme reactions over average ones.

“We’re finding out people were booing it and then also people were loving it,” she told Vulture. “That’s cool! At least they’re talking about it! If it was just, ‘Eh, it’s fine,’ then you didn’t do anything. You have to do something.”

The latest film from the Drive director follows aspiring model Jesse (Fanning) who moves to Los Angeles where she is swallowed up by the dark world of fame.

It also stars Keanu Reeves and Christina Hendricks.

Other attendees at Tuesday night's premiere included Camilla Elphick, Billie JD Porter and Joe Alwyn.

The Neon Demon is set for UK cinema release on July 8.
