Eddie Murphy to become father of tenth child at the age of 57

Comedian Eddie Murphy is expecting his tenth child.

Rumours that his model girlfriend Paige Butcher, 39, was pregnant with her second child with the 57-year-old star began to circulate earlier this month when she was spotted shopping in Los Angeles with a distinctive bump.

Now Murphy’s representative has confirmed the reports, telling People Magazine: “Eddie Murphy and long-time girlfriend Paige Butcher are pleased to announce that they are expecting their second child in December.”

The couple, who have been together for six years, have a two-year-old daughter, Izzy.

Murphy has nine children with five women. He shares his oldest son Eric, 29, with Paulette McNeely. He also has a son, Christian, 27, with ex-girlfriend Tamara Hood. He has five children with ex-wife, model Nicole Mitchell Murphy — daughters Bella Zahra, 16, Zola Ivy, 18, Shayne Audra, 23, and Bria, 28, plus 25-year-old son Miles Mitchell. Murphy and Nicole were married for eight years.

The actor also has an 11-year-old daughter, Angel Iris, with Spice Girl Melanie Brown. Murphy was one of the biggest stand-up comedians of the Eighties before branching out into film with hits Coming To America, The Nutty Professor and Shrek.

He is set to play “blaxploitation” star Rudy Ray Moore in forthcoming Netflix movie Dolemite Is My Name!

Comedian Moore created alter ego Dolemite, on which he based a 1975 self-financed movie about a pimp/nightclub owner who is skilled at kung fu.
