Ed Sheeran has revealed he is good friends with Russell Crowe – and that the pair love nothing more than a boozy night out.

Sheeran – who has a string of A-list pals – said he loves partying with the Australian actor.

Speaking with Nova's Kent 'Smallzy' Small he said: “I've started hanging out with Russell Crowe because he just loves getting drunk and I love getting drunk.

“We don't get anything from each other, other than just a night out.

“We get an enjoyment of hanging out. There is no boost in either of our careers from our association. We just like partying.”

Sheeran opened up about their friendship after speaking about how fame has changed him since he released his debut album + in 2011.

He said: “I remained the same for the first album and then the second record I saw different sides to people and that in turn makes you paranoid and anxious and then you change.

“I definitely have changed in that respect. I don’t go outside that much and I don’t get too close to people I don’t know.”

Sheeran and Crowe are believed to have struck up a friendship after meeting for the first time at the BRIT Awards in February 2015 when Crowe presented Sheeran with the British Album of the Year gong.

The Thinking Out Loud singer was clearly star-struck at meeting the Hollywood star and joked that he “really wanted to start quoting Gladiator”.
