Labour leader Ed Miliband has been spotted leaving comedian Russell Brand’s Shoreditch home late at night.

On Monday, the politician was seen getting into a car outside the 39-year-old’s house by a neighbour, who took a photo of his departure.

Around 10pm, the photo found its way onto Twitter, gaining hundreds of retweets, under the caption:

“A friend of mine lives opposite Russell Brand and snapped this picture of Ed Milliband leaving his house...urm.”

The Labour party has since confirmed that Brand, who has admitting to not voting in the past, was filming an interview with the party leader.

A spokesman confirmed that Miliband “was doing a media interview like he often does" and "looked forward to it being broadcast.”

Stand-up comedian Brand, whose recent book, The Revolution, was published last year, has a weekly video podcast called, The Trews.

He has just launched a spin-off called The Trews: Political Week, in which he analyses party political broadcasts.

Brand also stars in Michael Winterbottom’s new documentary, The Emperor’s New Clothes, about income equality and economic disparity.
