Drake appears to be the latest member of the Spice Girls’ fan club.

In a photo shared by Crystal Palace footballer Wilfried Zaha, the Canadian rapper can be seen wearing a black hoodie which features the Spiceworld logo used on the girl group’s second album cover.

The star’s unexpected fashion statement quickly gained the band’s approval, as the Spice Girls’ official Twitter account re-posted the photo with the caption: “Always knew Drake was a Spice Boy.”

The group’s fans responded by voicing their appreciation for Drake’s sartorial tribute, claiming that they “need to find out” where he bought it from.

“I’m gonna need that hoodie,” one follower wrote on Twitter.

“But where did he get it?? Cause I want it,” another said.

“I need to find out where @Drake got that #SpiceWorld hoodie from. I need it in my life @spicegirls,” a third commented.

“I don’t really know what’s going on but I approve,” a confused fan chimed in.

Others voiced their hopes that the musicians could collaborate in future, with one fan suggesting: “OMG a @spicegirls track feat. @drake would be amazing.”

Drake is currently in the UK for the London leg of his Assassination Vacation tour.

Earlier this week, representatives for the Spice Girls denied reports that the band had scrapped world tour dates following Brown’s shock claim that she slept with Geri Horner (nee Halliwell) during the group’s 90s heyday.

Brown, Horner, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton are set to reunite without fellow bandmate Victoria Beckham for a string of stadium tour dates in May and June, and reports had suggested that plans for international gigs had been abandoned following Brown’s revelation.

A spokesperson for the group told Standard Online that the latest reports were “inaccurate and factually untrue.”

Horner previously described Brown’s claims as “simply not true,” after her bandmate made the comments in an interview with Piers Morgan.

“It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Mother’s Day of all days,” a representative for Horner said in a statement.

“Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”
