Dominic Cooper has revealed what it was like kissing ex-girlfriend Amanda Seyfried on set of Mamma Mia 2, years after their real life split.

The pair appear alongside each other in the follow-up to 2008's musical spectacular, 10 years on from the release of the original film.

However, Cooper has since opened up about what it was like to kiss his former flame, who he began dating during filming on the first film in 2008.

Cooper told Attitude: “She’s a friend. It was always going to be OK. You just have to be delicate with those situations. She’s married now and has a beautiful child.

“Emotional journey”: Dominic Cooper with Amanda Seyfried and Cher in a scene from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

“We knew we were going to be working together [again] on a set, going back to a part which was certainly going to remind us of 10 years earlier, but I know her family, I know her mum, who was there a lot.

“It was a pleasant atmosphere. It was really interesting to see how different our lives are after 10 years. It is a long time and it was nice to spend time [with her]."

The 40-year-old actor’s revelation comes after Seyfried revealed that her husband was “jealous” after finding out the pair would be working together again.

The actress, who plays Sophie in the hit films, told how Sadoski had “issues” with the whole situation.

Seyfried told the Mirror: “I think he has the same kind of issues that I would have if we were hanging out with his ex-girlfriend from long ago.

“I think it’s always like, ‘I’m so in love with this person, so that person must be so in love with her too.’”

She added that despite this, her other half had been very “supportive” as he is also a fan of the franchise.
