Grammys viewers were convinced that Cardi B was lip syncing during her performance of Money at last night’s awards show.

The rapper, who made history as the first female solo artist to win Best Rap Album for Invasion of Privacy, treated the audience to a tightly choreographed rendition of her most recent single, but Twitter users claimed her vocals were out of time with her mouth.

“Probably should be better at lip syncing if you plan to do it on the Grammys. Here’s lookin’ at you @iamcardib,” one viewer wrote.

“Am I the only other person who thinks it looks like Cardi B is badly lip syncing?” another asked.

“I guess Cardi B is auditioning for Lip Sync Battle,” one fan suggested, alluding to the Chrissy Teigen-fronted TV show which sees celebrities mime along to other stars’ famous tracks.

"She won the Lip Sync Battle that didn't exist," another agreed.

Standard Online has contacted the rapper’s representatives for comment.

Veteran Grammys audio coordinator Michael Abbott has previously insisted that lip syncing is banned at the awards show, “unlike almost every other televised awards show in the U.S.”

However, some performances, particularly those with difficult or fast-paced choreography, may require use of an augmented backing track.

“While we don’t allow lip-synch on the show, some performances are so demanding in terms of sound design that there has to be some of what we call track augmentation, which might involve Pro Tools or some other kind of playback,” he told TV Technology in 2012.

“We do allow the artist to have their vision of what they should be looking and sounding like produced accurately, just as they do in concert.”

As she accepted her Best Rap Album award on the night, Cardi dedicated her win to her seven-month-old daughter Kulture, who she shares with Migos rapper Offset.
