Danny Dyer has revealed hard-hitting EastEnders storylines have left him hooked-up to IV drips in a battle to beat exhaustion.

The 41-year-old actor, who plays Mick Carter in the BBC soap, said he was inspired by his daughter Dani to use the treatment to boost his energy.

He told the Daily Star: “I’ve been boosting my energy. I’ve had four courses of booster drips recently. I was so lethargic.

“It also helps the liver and everything.”

It’s not only EastEnders keeping the hardman busy but meeting and getting to know his prospective son-in-law Jack Fincham.

Dani met Fincham on Love Island earlier this year with the pair going on to win the £50,000 prize fund after beating Laura Anderson and Paul Knops.

Dani, Danny and Fincham enjoyed a day at West Ham and recently tucked into a Sunday roast with Dani’s grandad ‘Bruv’.

Fincham shared a picture of the foursome alongside the caption: “Nice little roast round bruvs @bruv_loveislandlegend.”

Danny had initial reservations about their relationship, admitting he feared the pen salesman would get “caught up in the whirlwind” of fame.

“He has no idea. When he comes out he’s from South East London and he’s going to be the nation’s sweetheart and so his mates are going to want a bit of that,” Dyer told the Mirror.

“He’ll get caught up in the whirlwind of it. And of course they have got the added pressure of being in a public relationship which is again really difficult, really difficult.”

The couple recently moved into a flat together in Canary Wharf and have spoken about marriage in the future.

They are rumoured to be getting their own TV show in the style of last year’s finalists Chris Hughes and Olivia Attwood. Speaking about his new career plans, Fincham said: “We have had so many lovely opportunities.”
