Coronation Street star Alan Halsall has reportedly split from his wife Lucy-Jo Hudson.

The couple – who have a four-year-old daughter - have called time on their nine-year marriage, according to The Sun.

“It’s very amicable but they’ve decided to go their separate ways," a source told the publication.

“Alan’s been joking that he’s having a mid-life crisis and he went and treated himself to a brand new car five days ago. It’s a difficult time for both of them.

“They’re devastated the marriage is over but have vowed to stay friends. They still really care for each other.”

They added that last month Halsall had attended an event in Manchester and joked he was “having a mid-life crisis” but “seemed in pretty good spirits”.

Halsall, 35, and Hudson, 34, met on the Weatherfield Cobbles back in 2002, when Hudson was cast in the long-running soap as Katy Harris alongside Halsall as mechanic Tyrone Dobbs.

The showbiz pair married in 2009 and have a daughter, Sienna-Rae, who was born in 2013. They briefly split two years ago for four months, deciding then to give things another go.

It had been reported that the couple had been working on their “dream home” for months before their “split”.

Standard Online has contacted representatives for Halsall and Hudson for comment.
