BBC One's new adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula is causing quite the storm - as is actor Claes Bang, who plays the titular character.

Among raunchy sex scenes and gory bloodbaths, one of the show's main draws is the Danish actor.

Who is Claes Bang and how old is he?

Danish actor and musician Claes Bang was born in Odense on 28 April, 1967 - making him 52 years old.

After studying at the Danish National School of Theatre, Bang landed his first acting gig in 1997, when he played various roles in the TV show Taxa.

While Bang is currently starring in BBC One's Dracula series as the titular character, the star has an impressive portfolio to his name.

You may also recognise him from The Square (2017) and The Affair (2019).

The Danish actor won the European Film Award for Best Actor in The Square, and the film itself won the Palme d'Or accolade at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival.

Does Claes Bang have a wife?

He sure does! Claes married stylist Lis Louis-Jensen in 2010 and have lived in Copenhagen together ever since.

While the pair do not have children together, Claes is stepfather to Lis' two children and step-grandfather to her grandchild.

Bang also took to Instagram late last year to announce that he will be a grandfather again.
