Chris Martin was awkwardly propositioned at a Coldplay gig in the US.

The frontman was forced to halt his performance in Pittsburgh after one enthusiastic fan begged him to take her to bed.

Martin was trying to play Everglow from the band’s 2015 album, A Head Full of Dreams, when someone started shouting “f*** me”.

Unable to continue, Martin asked: “What are you saying? I don’t want to discourage you but what you’re saying is perhaps not in tone with the song.”

Martin – who is dating actress Annabelle Wallis – joked that the proposition made him feel like a teenager, and not wanting to offend the fan, he joked about treating her to dinner.

“I’d have to take you to dinner first,” he said. “It’s a lovely offer.”

In an attempt to start the song again he finished: “Listen, all the sexual stuff aside let’s play the song. It’s a very serious song about the world. I feel like I’m 15.”

But fans hoping for a romantic encounter with the Devon-born singer will be shocked to learn that a kiss with Martin is worth a whopping $30,000 (£22,000).

Gwyneth Paltrow recently offered up a smooch with her ex-husband at a breast cancer research charity auction.

Paltrow sparked a bidding war at the Hamptons Paddle & Party For Pink 2016 event on Saturday when she donated her pair of tickets to Martin’s SiriumXM Coldplay concert in Amagansett before throwing in the kiss.

Coldplay are currently on the North American leg of their A Head Full of Dreams world tour which will see them play dates in Las Vegas and Denver among others before wrapping up in Sydney Australia on December 14.
