Cheryl has hit out at claims she is on the verge of splitting from Liam Payne, slamming reports that they are unhappy as “ludicrous”.

The celebrity couple stepped out together for the Brit Awards last night, with some reports claiming their united front was a “stunt”.

Blasting the claims, Cheryl tweeted: “Oh stop no one cares who’s been speculatively arguing or not in their relationships. Use your platform to put something productive in your columns. I opened a centre this week that could help thousands of youth!!!!....

“..Oh and your ‘stunt’ theories are just ludicrous and a bit weird.”

Her tweets came hours after it was reported the couple’s show of affection at Wednesday night’s bash was fake, and that they “barely spoke” backstage.

A source told The Sun: “Cheryl and Liam’s friends say things are not good between them and have made it clear their relationship will soon end.

“They are trying to work things out and want to be together for Bear’s first birthday which is next month but things are very strained.”

Cheryl and Payne were said to be planning to call time on their relationship after nearly two years together.

Payne’s travelling is said to be the reason for the alleged strain in their relationship, with the singer spending most of the past six months on the road to promote his new music.

The former One Direction star was said to be seeking legal advice from divorce lawyers on how to protect his £54 million fortune should they split, as well as allegedly discussing arrangements for their son.
