Liam Payne gave One Direction fans fresh hope that the pop group will eventually reunite in a speech at the Brit Awards.

The singer turned up to collect the audience-voted British Artist Video award, which went to One Direction’s History.

Taking to the stage just hours before his girlfriend Cheryl finally confirmed her pregnancy, Payne said that he and his bandmates will ‘always be’ One Direction.

“This is amazing, thank you so much,” he said.

“I know I speak on behalf of the rest of the boys when I say we cannot believe we’re still winning these, and the sheer devotion that our fans have shown online for this is absolutely amazing, so thank you very much.

“We’ve been taking a bit of time out, working on our solo material, but One Direction is who we are and it’s who we always will be. This one’s for you, thank you very much.”

The prize marked One Direction’s seventh BRIT Award, and their fourth year in a row receiving British Artist Video.

While Payne’s speech clearly hinted at the much-promised One Direction reunion, the singer is soon set to become a father as Cheryl revealed her huge baby bump in a new L’Oreal campaign.

The first official photo of the former Girls Aloud singer’s pregnancy has just been released following months of intense speculation that the pair were expecting.
