Bradley Cooper posed for selfies at the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy

Stars were out in force last night at the Los Angeles premiere of Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy at the Dolby Theatre.

In keeping with the sci-fi film and to ensure that nobody missed out, there was a virtual red carpet that opened up a portal for fans in Manhattan who were desperate to get in on a slice of the action.

Fans in Flatiron Plaza in Manhattan were able to connect with the stars of the movie as they celebrated its premiere out in Los Angeles.

Selfie fever overcame the stars, including Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel who looked more than happy posing for a series of selfies and photos with fans.

Karen Gillan posed for pictures in a purple dress in keeping with her character Nebula, and added gold accessories and sandals for the sci-fi event.

Earlier in the day the Scottish actress took to Twitter to tell fans of her excitement for the L.A premiere saying: “Premiere day in LA! Excitement!!!! #GuardiansOfTheGalaxy.”

She rounded the night off not with champagne and rolling out of a club, but with a burger: “Amazing premiere tonight! Ended perfectly with an in and out burger.”

Actress Zoe Saldana tweeted a picture of herself surrounded by make up artists tweeting: “Prepping me seconds before #guardiansofthegalaxy premiere, my #fashion #glam #guardians.”

It paid off as the actress looked stunning in a lace floral dress with heavy white detailing.

Other famous American faces joined the cast for the night. Dancing with the Stars dancer Karina Smirnoff posed alongside Scott Pilgrim actress Aubrey Plaza and comedian Seth Green.

The film is about American pilot Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who is the object of a man hunt after stealing an orb from the villainous Ronan and is set for UK release on August 1.
