Brad Pitt has been reunited with his co-star Marion Cotillard for the first time since his split with Angelina Jolie.

The actor, 52, posed alongside a pregnant Cotillard, 40, as they walked the red carpet for the LA premiere of their latest film, Allied.

Pitt - who this week made his first public appearance since news of his divorce was announced - arrived alone and made sure to sign autographs for fans and pose for selfies.

Their joint appearance comes a month after the French actress found herself at the centre of speculation amid reports she had become close to Pitt during the filming of their new WWII drama.

Cotillard – who plays Pitt’s love interest in the Robert Zemeckis directed film – hit back at the reports on Instagram where she declared her love for her partner of eight years Guillaume Canet and confirmed he is the father of her unborn child.

She wrote: “I am not used to commenting on things like this nor taking them seriously but as this situation is spiraling and affecting people I love, I have to speak up.

“Many years ago, I met the man of my life, father of our son and of the baby we are expecting. He is my love, my best friend, the only one that I need.”

Canet – who also has five-year-old son Marcel with the French actress – blasted the "venal stupidity" of those who accused his partner of having an affair.

He praised Cotillard’s “strength” in an Instagram post before finishing: “I hope you become better and aspire to something else in your life other than constantly coming out with s***!"

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September citing “irreconcilable differences”. Her lawyer confirmed the news and said the decision had been taken for “the health of the family”.

The actress was this week granted full custody of their six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, and Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Pitt will be allowed “therapeutic visits”

Allied is set for UK cinema release on November 25.
