Ant McPartlin has reportedly struck up a new romance with his personal assistant who helped “put him back together again” after a troubled few months that saw him slapped with a drink-driving fine.

The 42-year-old presenter – one half of much-loved duo Ant and Dec – is believed to be dating his assistant Anne-Marie Corbett, also 42, who has been credited with helping him overcome his demons.

According to The Sun, Ant and Ms Corbett’s relationship blossomed when she helped him through his drunk-driving crash earlier this year which was followed by a stint in rehab.

The pair were pictured together in April, out on a dog walk, when Ant was still believed to be receiving treatment for an alcohol addiction.

A source told the newspaper: “Anne-Marie’s put him back together again. Everyone’s thrilled he’s found someone to love.

“She has been his rock. They have been living in each other’s pockets, day in, day out. Knowing someone is there for him has brought him back from the brink.

“It’s very early days, but everyone is hoping he can put the worst year of his life behind him and find happiness again. Both of them deserve it.”

Ant announced in January that he was separating from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong.

Months later, in March, he was arrested for drink-driving after colliding with a car in Richmond when he was twice the legal limit.

No one was hurt in the collision but the I’m A Celebrity presenter was fined £86,000 and given a 20-month road ban.

The source said Ms Corbett, who split from her husband in October, had been a great support to Ant during his court proceedings and rehabilitation.

“She’s been at his side for this whole ordeal, often when everyone else has gone away. His lowest moment was when the drink-drive case judge said he had lost his good character, but Anne-Marie stayed supporting him.

“Since he has come out of rehab, Ant can’t really go out socialising, to restaurants or anything like that. It means he has spent an awful lot of time with her and has realised she’s the one for him.”

Ant has stayed out of the limelight following the drink-driving incident, leaving partner Dec to continue presenting their Saturday Night Takeaway show alone.

Dec also went on to host the live finals of Britain’s Got Talent.
