A security guard found himself at the receiving end of Adele’s sharp tongue after he kept telling concert-goers to sit down.

Adele, 28, stopped her Melbourne, Australia concert midway through to scold the guard for stopping people dancing to her set.

Calling out the man in front of the 77,000 strong crowd she said: “Before we start the next song, excuse me sir, I know you work here but can you stop telling people to sit down? This is a music show.

“If people can’t see, then they can stand up. And if you’re moaning about people dancing then why the f*** have you come to a music show?

*Warning strong language*

She finished: “If I see one more person be told to sit down I swear to God.”

The Rumour Has It singer received huge cheers from the crowd before adding: “Excuse my language.”

The concert also saw the singer welcome 37-year-old Chris and his partner Wade on stage, which resulted in a surprise proposal.

Adele explained how she usually leaves signed letters on some of the seats in the arena to surprise fans, but said she fell asleep in the afternoon and didn’t get around to writing the letters.

To make up for it, she brought the pair on stage after she saw Chris burst into tears when she opened her concert with her hit single Hello.

Wade then asked his partner to marry him - and thankfully he said yes.

Adele said: “How lovely was that. B***** hell. I had no idea that was going to happen. That's made me so nervous.”

The concert marked the last on the Australia leg of her world tour.
