Adele has said she’s ‘too scared’ to think about having another baby at the moment following her battle with postpartum depression.

The British superstar, 28, who gave birth to son Angelo in 2012, felt ‘reluctant’ to talk about her struggle with the disease after becoming a new mother.

But the singer has now spoken out about her depression in a new interview with Vanity Fair, saying that she felt that she’d made a huge ‘mistake’ in the months after giving birth.

When asked if she was considering having another child, Adele said: “I’m too scared. I had really bad postpartum depression after I had my son, and it frightened me.

“ I didn't talk to anyone about it. I was very reluctant.”

She added: “One day I said to a friend, ‘I f****** hate this,’ and she just burst into tears and said, ‘I f****** hate this, too.’”

The singer went on to say that she felt completely ‘obsessed’ with Angelo after he was born and it took over her life.

“I felt very inadequate; I felt like I’d made the worst decision of my life,” she said.

“Eventually I just said, I’m going to give myself an afternoon a week, just to do whatever the f*** I want without my baby.”

Adele took four years off between albums to spend time with Angelo and other half Simon Konecki.

She burst back onto the music scene last year with her brand new studio album, 25, which topped the charts in the UK and the US.
