Brad Pitt took time out from looking after his new twins to give his son Maddox a treat.

Maddox, his adopted son with Angelina Jolie, was seven yesterday and was taken gokarting near the family's 800-acre moated French home in Aix-en-Provence.

Pitt, who turned up in white vest, sunglasses and pork-pie hat, kept a close eye on his son, staying a few feet behind him as they hurtled round together.

Maddox, who was born in Cambodia, is a veteran of the track. He has been go-karting since the family moved to the south of France this year.

This week Maddox's new siblings Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon were pictured in Hello! magazine for a reported $15 million deal.

That's just the sort of money a go-kart racer turned Formula One driver can make in a good year...
