As the superstar embarks on the early stages of her European tour, the results are well and truly in. Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour is a transcendental traversal of a 12-album strong discography spanning over 17 years of the icon’s life.
Not only has the show been dubbed a mind-blowing experience, but the community of fans have assembled in troves, dressed to the nines in different aesthetics representing their favourite albums and eras.
Swifties have also taken the artist’s lyric to ‘make the friendship bracelets / take the moment and taste it’ as gospel, trading handmade beaded creations adorned with their favourite lyrics and album colourways. Even stars like Paul Rudd, Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, and Emma Stone have been spotted leaving their respective shows with bracelets stacked up to their elbows.
The entire tour thus far feels like a true love letter to the fans who have not only supported Swift throughout her career but – perhaps most importantly – in her bold decision to re-record her albums and take back ownership of her entire back catalogue.
The dedicated Midnights album presale left superfans across the UK deeply satisfied, Ticketmaster finally determining a means – however convoluted – to remove bots and scalpers from the system for good. You’ll be hard pressed to find a Midnights presale code holder who didn’t manage to get their hands on some incredible tickets. Other less fortunate fans were left with tears in their eyes, mouthing the words to This is Me Trying under piles of blankets and a glass of red wine perched on the bedside. We know this Innocent picture All Too Well.
Though the option to buy resale tickets for face value at a later date still stands, if you’ve managed to not only survive The Great War of Ticketmaster and AXS allocations but triumphed, we salute you. Likewise, if you’re reading this article amid ritualistic manifestations over candlelight in order to will tickets into being at a later date, join the club. Let’s plan our outfits together, Dear Reader, ticketholder or not.
Debut Era
Back in 2006, when Taylor Swift released her debut, self-titled album, the star was a country music singer. As such, this era is characterised by girl-next-door sundresses, worn-out blue jeans, cowboy boots and hats, as well as the singer’s signature natural curls.
Heritage Western X Toe Western Boot
Scoop up these fantastic cowboy boots and Debut-ify any of the dresses in your wardrobe.
Fearless
Swift’s sophomore album aesthetic is essentially a more bedazzled version of her Debut era. Think: sparkly fringe dresses and metallic cowboy boots.
Speak Now
If there’s one adjective that encompasses the entire aesthetic of the Speak Now era, it’s purple.
Selkie Puff Dress in Lilac
TikTok-viral designer Selkie has a range of wonderful, fairytale-inspired dresses fit for lovers of all things Enchanted. The lilac version is available to rent from Hurr.
Cross Of Sunlight Mini
Speak Now aesthetics with a sprinkling of Debut Taylor? Sign us up.
RED
Taylor’s RED era aesthetic is heavily influenced by the preppy and twee styles which were popular throughout the early 2010s. It’s like if Zooey Deschanel only wore shades of red and maroon, alongside classic Breton stripes, collared shirts, and heeled brogues.
Claudie Pierlot Black Tweed Shorts
Pair these miniature tweed shorts from Claudie Pierlot with a plain white tee and a pair of cherry-red Keds for the ultimate 22 music video look.
1989
The 1989 era is all about crop tops, matching two pieces and brightly coloured bomber jackets.
Stripe Sequin Halterneck Cut Away Jumpsuit
Dance the night away to all your favourite 1989 tunes in this gorgeous, cut-out sparkly jumpsuit.
Goldbergh Deam Bomber Jacket
If you’re lucky enough to be going to two Eras Tour shows, you could re-purpose this metallic bomber as a Speak Now outfit piece thanks to its pastel, lilac hue.
Urban CoCo Women’s Basic Solid Stretchy Flared Skater Skirt
This A-line skater skirt from Amazon is available in almost every colour of the rainbow, which means it won’t be hard to find a colourway which matches your 1989 ensemble.
Reputation
Taylor’s revenge era outfits include a whole lot of black leather, bejewelled snake motifs and skin-tight ensembles.
Annalise Pant
These faux leather trousers will make both Taylor and the HAIM girls proud, so long as you pair them with a black bralette.
Lover
The antithesis to Reputation, the Lover era is flled to the brim with sunset-toned pastels, rainbows, butterflies, and tulle paired with t-shirts and crop tops.
Collective the Label exclusive sequin heart crop top co-ord in pink
This versatile heart-shaped crop top is a fantastic nod to Swift’s romance-fuelled album. Stay comfy and pair it with your favourite jeans, or go for a matching sparkly mini skirt – the choice is yours.
Gianni Bini Katyanna Over-the-Knee Rhinestone Embellished Western Dress Boots
We don’t know about you, but we’ve fallen head over heels for these rhinestone-embellished, over-the-knee cowgirl boots by Gianni Bini. Fear not, for these spectacular creations feature a secret zip closure for slip-on, zip-up ease.
Folklore
Cottagecore. That’s all you need to know.
Nadira Dress
It’s no secret that Taylor Swift is a big fan of a good Reformation dress. Embody Swift’s personal style as well as the Folklore aesthetic with this beautiful countryside-inspired piece.
Evermore
Cottagecore but make it winter.
Midnights
Swift’s most recent aesthetic is inspired by all things 70s. From the warm-toned colour palettes and casual crochet pieces, to the more on the nose ensembles which resemble a midnight sky.
Coco Mini Asymmetrical Sequined Ombré Dress With Velvet Sleeve
This concert-ready mini dress combines Swift’s signature sparkles with a midnight blue velvet sleeve.
The Celeste Bottoms
Peachy Den’s classic velvet flared leggings in navy are a fantastic ode to Midnights.
Topshop fringe mini dress in blue
Twirling to the Midnights album has never looked so good.
