Redstar rampage

On Friday November 28th, Camberwell’s Redstar presents Sigue Sigue Sputnik’s Tony James - and we’ve got two signed albums to give away and three pairs of tickets just waiting to be snapped up by This is London readers.

Tony will be playing an exclusive DJ Set of his own bootlegs for a night of pure hedonism. Think back to 1986, when Sputnik hit number three in the charts with their first single, "Love Missile F1-11", for a flavour of the night.

A nuclear explosion of ideas, led by former Generation X member Tony James, Sputnik went on to sell a million albums by adopting a post-modern, ironic style and sound. With a David Bowie cover in the bag... there was no one like them.

Tony James says £I only play bootlegs that I personally create, unlike conventional bootlegs where 2 records are layered together my mixes are recreated on a computer from scratch and the tracks not only work musically but lyrically and emotionally"

Hosted by the infamous weekly residency, Pearl Necklack (acknowledged for booking guests like Marc Almond, Adam Sky and the infamous Nag Nag Nag DJ's) at the newly refurbished, retro- feel Redstar this night promises self-indulgent , trashy, sleazy glam-rock and electric disco pop.
