Ryan Atkins scored four tries for holders Warrington

Warrington made a confident start to their defence of the Tetley's Challenge Cup in disposing of part-timers Keighley 74-4 in the opening round for the third year in a row.

Centre Ryan Atkins scored four of the holders' 13 tries while 19-year-old prop Glenn Riley marked his senior debut with a well-taken try and Chris Riley and Rhys Williams scored a brace apiece as the visitors cruised to victory.

Trent Waterhouse, Richie Myler, Gareth O'Brien and acting captain Brett Hodgson claimed a try each, while the latter also contributed 11 conversions for the Wolves. Paul White's second-half effort was all the Cogars could muster in reply.

Shaun Lunt scored two tries in two minutes to save Huddersfield from an embarrassment as they recorded a 13-4 win at Batley.

In-form hooker Lunt, twice a losing cup finalist at Wembley, rescued the Super League side against the part-timers. The spirited Bulldogs gave Huddersfield a massive fright, just as they did at the same stage of this competition two years ago, as Gareth Potts crossed over just before the break to hand the home side a 4-0 half-time lead.

Finally, in the 58th minute, Lunt finished off a sweeping move in the right corner, Brough missing the conversion. Two minutes later Batley's previously solid back-line parted again and Lunt got the final touch for his eighth try in seven matches.

Hull cruised to a 62-6 victory over North Wales Crusaders thanks to hat-tricks from full-back Jamie Shaul and centre Kirk Yeaman at the KC Stadium.

Sharp-witted stand-off Thomas Bosc showed his French international pedigree as Catalan's 12 men coasted into the fifth round with a 50-12 victory over Hunslet Hawks. Bosc scored a try, had an important hand in four others and kicked seven goals while his half-back partner William Barthau scored a hat-trick.

Salford City Reds' expected passage to the fifth roun was confirmed with a 15-try 82-6 demolition of Championship 1 new boys Gloucestershire All Golds in Cheltenham.

Experienced half-backs Jarrod Sammut and Luke Gale guided Bradford Bulls safely through with a comprehensive 70-10 win at Rochdale Hornets.
