Matavesi handed four-week ban

Josh Matavesi will miss Worcester's final two Premiership games this season
17 April 2013

Worcester back Josh Matavesi has received a four-week ban from Rugby Football Union disciplinary chiefs.

Fiji international Matavesi was cited for a dangerous tackle on Saracens scrum-half Neil de Kock during last Sunday's Aviva Premiership game between the clubs at Allianz Park.

He pleaded guilty to the charge at an RFU disciplinary hearing, English rugby's governing body announced on Wednesday morning.

Matavesi's suspension will run until May 6, ruling him out of Worcester's remaining two Premiership games this season, and then from May 31 to June 6, which covers Fiji's Pacific Nations Cup fixtures against Japan and Canada.
