Jordan replaces Finn in T20 squad

Chris Jordan has been drafted into England's Twenty20 squad

Paceman Chris Jordan has been drafted in to England's Twenty20 squad to face Australia following Steven Finn's early departure.

Jordan is already in Australia with the one-day squad and has impressed in the opening two games, despite England slipping 2-0 behind in the series.

An England and Wales Cricket Board statement confirmed that Jordan would replace Finn after he was allowed to leave Australia early due to technical difficulties with his bowling action.

"Sussex pace bowler Chris Jordan has been called into England's Twenty20 squad for the three-match series against Australia beginning in Hobart on January 29," the statement read.

Finn did not play a competitive match against Australia in almost three months on tour, with limited overs coach Ashley Giles revealing his problems had rendered him "not selectable".

That has left Finn as a major doubt for selection to the World Twenty20, which begins on March 16, after he was this week selected in the provisional 30-man squad.

Jordan was also included in that list, despite being uncapped in the shortest format, but will now get his chance to press his claims.

The 25-year-old had been due to join up with the England Lions in Sri Lanka, with Liam Plunkett now called up to replace him in that squad.
