Jenkins to wed filmmaker boyfriend

Classical music star Katherine Jenkins has announced that she is to marry.

In response to media reports that she was engaged to boyfriend Andrew Levitas, Jenkins tweeted: " Thank you for all your lovely wishes of congratulations. They mean so much to us. Happy Easter!"

Mr Levitas, 36, is a filmmaker, fine artist and producer, who also teaches at New York University.

The 33-year-old Welsh mezzo-soprano was seen with Mr Levitas when he joined her as she collected her OBE from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

Jenkins was previously engaged to former Blue Peter presenter Gethin Jones in 2011.

She is due to release an album later this year which promises to return to the classical repertoire she pursued earlier in her career.

A number of celebrities also took to Twitter to congratulate the star.

Piers Morgan said on the social networking site: "Big congrats to my lovely friend @KathJenkins on her engagement. Andrew's a great guy."

Fellow classical music star Myleene Klass tweeted to Jenkins: " amazing news. Very happy for you x."
