Baby to live with her two fathers
A six-month-old girl born in England via artificial insemination is to live in South Africa with her two fathers following a ruling by a High Court judge.
Mr Justice Peter Jackson has made a parental order which will allow the little girl to live in Gauteng with her fathers - a 41-year-old Englishman and a 29-year-old South African.
The little girl's "carrying mother" was her English father's 31-year-old sister - and a donor egg was inseminated by her South African father, said the judge.
Mr Justice Peter Jackson made an order under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act after a hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in Lancaster.
The judge said he was satisfied that one of the men was "domiciled" in the UK, as legislation required.
He said the couple planned to return to England with their daughter in the foreseeable future.
