This was the moment fireworks erupted from a burning house in the Netherlands as neighbours gathered to enjoy an impromptu display.

Sparks flew from the home in Wezep as fireworks stored in its attic were ignited by flames just over a week ahead of Bonfire Night.

Three people were injured in the fire, which was filmed by onlooker Eljakim Doorneweerd.

Police are investigating what caused the fire and why the family had so many fireworks stored in their home.

The house was completely destroyed by the blaze, firefighters said.
