Shamima Begum latest: ISIS bride 'flees refugee camp following death threats'

ISIS bride Shamima Begum has fled her refugee camp with her baby following death threats, according to reports.

The Sun reported Ms Begum was taken to another base in Syria after she was “threatened”.

The paper quoted a source as saying: “She is living in fear of her life. There is a bounty on her head. She felt she had no option but to move her and her child to have a chance of survival.

“Shamima has become something of a celebrity and is constantly looking over her shoulder, fearing brutal reprisals for daring to speak out about life with ISIS.”

The Daily Mail previously reported that there had been "talk" of burning her tent down.

The 19-year-old claimed that her recent "fame" had angered a lot of other wives in the camp.

Her lawyer, Tasnime Akunjee, told the Mirror he had not received confirmation of her leaving the camp, but that his “understanding was that she had been moved”.

Home secretary Sajid Javid stripped Ms Begum of her UK citizenship shortly after she revealed her hopes of returning to Britain following her decision to flee to Syria to become an Isis bride in 2015.

He came under fire on Wednesday after he appeared before the Home Affairs Committee but refused to answer questions about the specifics of Ms Begum’s case.

In a clash with committee chair Yvette Cooper, Mr Javid said: “I can’t answer anything regarding this case because it may become subject to legal proceedings.”

Ms Begum's family have urged for the return of her citizenship.

Her father, Ahmed Ali said his daughter was just "a little child" who "made a mistake" when she fled London for Syria.

He said his daughter should face justice in Britain and said the teenager "belongs to England."

Mr Ali told ITV News: I don't think he's (Sajid Javid) done the right thing because she is a British citizen, and if it turns out she has committed any crimes, then she should face justice in the UK.

“She belongs to this country, she belongs to England. My daughter was a little child, she made a mistake, she didn't properly understand.

“I would like to make a plea to the British Government not to strip her of her citizenship.

“If she has made any mistakes, bring her back to London, and let them do whatever they think is necessary, but I think taking her back to London, I think is necessary.”

He added: “I see my daughter as British and I am hoping she will return, and whatever needs to be done, I and my family will do to support this.

Ms Begum recently said she regrets speaking to the media and wishes she found a different way to contact her family.

The 19-year-old was one of three schoolgirls to leave Bethnal Green to join IS in 2015 and resurfaced heavily pregnant at a refugee camp last month.
