Logan Paul has joined a long list of celebrities who leapt to defend Harry Style’s Vogue cover in which he wears a dress.
The American YouTube star and actor addressed the cover - which saw former One Direction star Styles wear a Gucci dress and a tuxedo - in his podcast Impaulsive.
Contributors Mike Majlak and George Janko co-hosted the show.
Talking about Styles’s cover, Paul mused: “He doesn’t give a f***. …I’m all for challenging social norms.”
But Janko replied: “I’m old-school, man. I like the way it is.”
When it was suggested the cover wasn’t “manly” by his co-hosts, Paul said: “Bro, why? What is manly to you? What does it mean? Is manly being comfortable in your own skin and being comfortable with who you are, regardless of what people think of what you’re wearing?”
Paul, whose YouTube channel has been criticised heavily in the past for numerous controversies, has been praised on social media for his handling of the conversation.
Earlier in the week, Olivia Wilde and Jameela Jamil defended Styles’s historic cover - which was shot by Tyler Mitchell. It was the first time a man had featured solo on the cover of the fashion bible.
They responded after Candace Owens and commentator Ben Shapiro, criticised the editorial.
Owens wrote on her Twitter page: “Bring back manly men.”
She added: “There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence. It is an outright attack.” [sic]
Shapiro shared her tweet and wrote: “Anyone who pretends this is not a referendum on masculinity for men to don floofy dresses is treating you like a full-on idiot.”
However, actor and director Wilde, who is currently working on a film in which Styles-stars, replied to Owens’ tweets with: “You’re pathetic.”
The Good Place actress Jamil added: “Manly is whatever you want it to be.”
