Japan is to deport 14 Chinese activists arrested after some of the group landed without authorisation on disputed islands in the East China Sea,

Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda called the invasion “regrettable”. The uninhabited islands, known as Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyu in Chinese are controlled by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan.
