Grieving father launches himself across courtroom to attack daughter's smiling killer

A grieving father launched himself across a court to try and attack his daughter’s killer.

Michael Madison was seen smirking and laughing as he was sentenced to death for murdering three people in Ohio.

The reaction sparked Van Terry, who had been speaking about the loss of his 18 year-old daughter Shirellda, to leap across the court in a fit of rage.

Court officials managed to tear Mr Terry away before he was ejected from Cuyahoga County courtroom in Madison. It did not appear that Madison sustained any injuries.

Madison was convicted of murdering Mr Terry’s daughter as well as Angela Deskins, 38, and Shetisha Sheele, 28.

Authorities found their bodies wrapped in rubbish bags after a cable television worker reported a putrid smell coming from his garage.

Madison told police he strangled two of the victims but did not remember killing a third.

An execution is likely to take years to happen because of the lengthy appeal process expected.
