Dunkin’ is dropping the donuts — from its name only.

The US food chain will rebrand as simply Dunkin’ from the new year.

Tony Weisman, US chief marketing officer at Dunkin’,said in a statement: “While donuts may no longer appear in our logo, we remain committed to serving our signature treats and will continue to offer new and seasonal varieties to delight donut lovers everywhere.”

The redesigned logo will maintain Dunkin’s pink-and-orange colour scheme and familiar font.

The company sells around 2.9 billion doughnuts around the world every year from its 11,000 outlets.
