Cameron Diaz is “not looking to return to acting” because “she can’t imagine being away from” her baby daughter.

The Charlie’s Angels star has not appeared in a film since the 2014 adaptation of Annie. Although she said she could never rule out returning to movies, she “couldn’t imagine” leaving daughter Raddix Madden to spend 16 hour-days on film sets.

“Look, I’m never gonna say never about anything in life. I just am not that person,’ she said on the Quarantined with Bruce radio show.

“So will I ever make a movie again? I’m not looking to, but will I? I don’t know. I have no idea. Maybe. Never say never.

"I couldn't imagine, being a mom now, where I'm at as a mother with my child at her first year, to have to be on a movie set that takes 14 hours, 16 hours of my day away from my child. I just couldn't."

The 48-year-old discussed life since welcoming her baby girl who was born in December 2019, and her marriage to Good Charlotte singer Benji Madden, describing it as the “most fulfilling part of my life so far.”

“It’s just like so important. I just feel like it’s, it’s everything that, you know,” she said.

“I probably somehow waited for this so that I could do all that other stuff, so I didn’t have any distractions. You know what I mean?”

The star said that she spends much of her time raising her daughter and running her wine company Avaline, and feels privileged to spend as much time with Raddix as she does.

“I feel for so many mothers who can’t, that have to go to work, you know, whatever they’re doing. I feel so much for them and for their children and for all that, but it does really take a village.

“I just feel so blessed that I get to be here now with my child and, you know, get to be the mother that I get to be.

“It’s such a blessing, it’s completely privileged and I’m just really, really grateful.”

Ms Diaz and her rocker husband married in 2015 and surprised the world when they announced the birth of their daughter on Instagram.

“We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden,” they wrote.

“She instantly captured our hearts and completed our family. While we are overjoyed to share the news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would even say RAD.”

Ms Diaz was considered one of Hollywood most bankable stars, and as of 2018, her films have grossed over $3 billion.
