'Battle of the barnets': Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un's famous hairstyles mocked mercilessly online

Alexandra Richards7 August 2018

As Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un met for their historic summit in Singapore, world peace was not the only thing on the minds of TV viewers watching at home.

The North Korea leader and US President were mocked online for their famous barnets with some Twitter users even dubbing the historic nuclear summit as "the bad hair conference".

In a stream of hilarious tweets and memes, many people joked that the two leaders had actually met to discuss their "terrible" hairstyles.

Jenny Johnson wrote: “Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump just made history by meeting each other, while hair stylists everywhere bury their heads in their hands and sob.”

While Bob Smiley wrote: “Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump met today! Not sure what they talked about but I know it wasn’t about the latest popular hair styles.”

William Morgan wrote: “Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un should get along great two leaders with no sense of hair style!”

One person swapped Mr Trump and Kim’s hair using Photoshop in a photo which quickly went viral.

The post read: "BREAKING: President Trump and Kim Jong Un take part in the traditional Hair Swap during their historical Summit in Singapore."

“Ok but like the real question is why do Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un let the people who cut their hair continue to cut their hair?” another person wrote.

While another person asked: “If you had your choice, would you rather #KimJongUn or #DonaldTrump's hair stylist?”

Jordet wrote: “On a positive note, I am relieved that the two worst hair styles on the planet occupying the same space didn’t cause a paradox.”
