Unison backing for Ed Miliband

Ed Miliband has been given the backing of Unison in his bid to be Labour leader

Leaders of the country's biggest public sector union have backed Ed Miliband in his bid to become the next leader of the Labour party.

Unison's national political committee gave its support to the former climate change secretary following a hustings earlier this month with all five candidates.

Around half a million Unison members who pay a political levy will now be balloted on who they want to support.
