Londoners can expect to wake up to a widespread frost on Monday morning with the mercury likely to dip below 0C on Sunday night, forecasters said.

It comes after a clear and chilly weekend across much of the UK, which saw lows of -9.8 recorded in the Scottish Highlands and a “severe frost” in the north.

No weather warnings have yet been issued by the Met Office as forecasters continue to monitor the cold temperatures.
